Create Dispatch
Once stories have been added, you are able to create (and then assemble) your dispatch. To add a dispatch to the system, follow the steps below:
- Either
a. Select Create Dispatch under the Dispatch folder in the main navigation panel b. Click on New Dispatch on the Connect Dashboard - Enter the general details of your dipatch, notably
- Dispatch Subject - the title of the dispatch
- From (Name/Email) - the name and email address of the sender
- Use Categories - indicate whether the categories associated with specific stories will be used in defining dispatch recipients
- Show Table of Contents? - the option to provide recipients with a table of contents, containing a link to individual dispatch stories
- Delivery method - the channel used to deliver the dispatch. The choices include email, SMS, fax, or fax and email
- Dispatch template - a Connect user may choose to create a dispatch based on a predefined template. If a template is not chosen, the default 'Standard' template is used
- Dispatch introduction - a brief overview of what the dispatch contains. If you do not wish to include individual stories as part of your dispatch, it can be sent with only an introduction
- Specify the Signature to be included at the end of the dispatch. If a staff member has previously defined their signature (using the administration panel), this field will default to the individual's chosen signature
- Enter the Google Analytics Campaign Title (optional). If this field is left blank, the Google Analytics field (which contains a unique Analytics code, configured by Internetrix at the time of deployment) is used instead. If your organisation is not utilising Google Analytics to track website visitor behaviour, the Campaign Title and Google Analytics fields are automatically disabled
- Save the dispatch
a. Save - will record the dispatch in Connect, and will remain on the same interface b. Save & Exit - will record the dispatch in Connect, and will initiate the Dashboard for the dispatch, which will enable the user to commence assembling their dispatch by adding stories, attachments and recipients
These steps are graphically demonstrated below.
